Data and contracts Officer (R)
We are seeking a highly competent and motivated individual to support the Council with their utility contract management, metering and billing/data management system. You will be required to liaise with utility suppliers and associated bodies to support the smooth running of the Council’s utility contracts and help to deal with day-to-day queries from sites regarding their bills, metering and supply issues. It will require the post holder to provide technical advice and support on energy and water to Council and partner stakeholders.
You will be part of a dynamic team that manage the Council’s utility portfolio and lead on the Council’s response to the Climate Emergency. This post will involve supporting the team leader (EEMS Utilities and Climate Officer) as well as liaising with the other project officers and business support admin. The role will involve working directly with stakeholders across the Council and partners and so a friendly and professional approach is required.
Core duties will include providing appropriate technical advice, assessment and management of data (use of Systemslink energy data management system), bill validation and query resolution. A good level of knowledge of utility contract, bill validation and payment as well as experience of using energy management/bill validation software would be required. The individual in post will be expected to be able to manage their time effectively. Attention to detail, with a through and meticulous approach to data management is essential.
Training and support will be provided on an ongoing basis to ensure the post holder is supported to thrive in this position. The post will be based at Magdalen House in Bootle with an element of home working, the frequency of which can be discussed with team managers.
Fixed term until 31st March 2028.
