This is an exciting role within the Public Health Team which aims to ensure an effective and coordinated approach to protecting and maintaining the health of Sefton residents. The post will play a vital role within the core public health team and will lead the delivery of key programmes of work related to prevention and control of infectious disease, emergency and pandemic preparedness, supporting uptake of screening and immunisation programmes and delivery of smoking cessation services.
You will be an effective systems leader who is skilled in partnership working, evidence-based practice, programme development and implementation, commissioning, service delivery and evaluation. The role will require working across organisations, partnerships and communities to improve population health and wellbeing, and reduce health inequalities across Sefton.
You will be skilled in rapidly and effectively mobilising system partners in the management of acute communicable illness, outbreaks and environmental harms to health. Experience of health promotion and harm reduction strategies will also be essential in ensuring that smoking cessation services are high quality and meet the needs of Sefton residents.
The post holder will have responsibility for direct line management of other staff and have additional responsibility for wider commissioned staff. The role will require strategic oversight and management of programme budgets and strong written and verbal communication skills.
The post is a hybrid role and you will be expected to be office based for at least two days per week or more as the role requires.
