Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council

This is a pivotal role at the heart of the Council.  The role has two main functions ensuring the efficient and effective collection and recovery of Sundry Debtor invoices as well as promptly paying external suppliers.

The role is suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident managing multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively

The key responsibilities include:

  • To deal with all aspects of the administration and payment of supplier payments in accordance with legislation, Council policy and procedures
  • To comply with all Council Policies and guidance in relation to combatting fraud.
  • To ensure the correct invoicing of sundry debts and the administration, collection, and recovery of outstanding invoices.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements with customers in appropriate cases.
  • Liaise with Council Departments and Schools to ensure supplier invoices are paid timely.
  • Liaise with Council Departments and the Corporate Debt Team to ensure the effective collection of outstanding debt.
  • Deal with routine correspondence and telephone enquiries

This position is ideal for an individual who is passionate about delivering high standards, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
