About the Role

The Assistant Planner role is a key first role in delivering high-quality services within the Development Management section of Planning Services. 

The postholder will be responsible for assessing a wide range of development proposals, working closely with residents, developers, and stakeholders, to help deliver sustainable growth that enhance communities and protect Sefton's unique natural and built environment.  The postholder will report to the Planning Manager (Development) and will work closely with colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of the Development Management function.

The postholder will need to have a flexible and positive approach to work, along with good understanding of the UK planning system, and knowledge of government planning policy and guidance. We require a strong commitment to customer care, performance management and the ability to work effectively as part of a busy team.
